As we celebrate Easter this Sunday we will have a special Easter service at 10:30 AM and a music celebration during our 5:30 PM service. Don't forget we have extra street parking on Kelly Street plus parking at the Post Office. Our Super Church classes will also have a special gift for all of the children in each class so be sure to get your kids excited about Easter at Canyon Ridge!

More than any other time of year Easter is truly a time of celebration for believers, be sure to join us this Sunday, April 8, at Canyon Ridge as we celebrate our risen Savior. See you soon!

Spring Bible Conference is Coming!

   Our Spring Bible Conference is quickly approaching; it begins this Sunday, March 18th, at 10:30AM! If you haven't done so already be sure to mark your calendars for our Spring Bible Conference March 18-20th.

    I am looking forward to a great time spent around God's Word during our Spring Bible Conference! Pastor Sam Davison will be our guest speaker, and I know he will be a great encouragement to our church and also challenge each of our walks with Christ. Our Spring Bible Conference is Sunday, March 18th, at 10:30AM and 5:30PM, Monday at 7:00PM, and Tuesday at 7:00PM; there will not be a Mid-Week service next week so be sure to join us each night of the Bible Conference. I am so excited about what God is doing at Canyon Ridge!

Spring Bible Conference

   Our Spring Bible Conference is only a few weeks away! Let me encourage you to begin inviting your friends. I know it is going to be a great time of encouragement and growth spent around God's Word.

   This year's conference will be on March 18-20, and Pastor Sam Davison will be our guest speaker. He will be preaching on Sunday, March 18th, during the 10:30AM & 5:30PM services, on Monday, March 19th, at 7:00PM, and on Tuesday, March 20th, at 7:00PM. Plan now to be at each of these services! Each one will be a unique opportunity to hear God's Word from one of the foremost preachers in America. Please begin praying now that God would be able to greatly bless our Bible conference and that every service will help each one of us draw closer to Christ.

Men's BBQ

Sizzling meats, delicious desserts, fellowship, and God's Word-- that's Men's BBQ in a nutshell! I truly cannot wait for Friday, March 9th, to get here.

    As our BBQ approaches I wanted to ask you to remember a few things. First, remember to bring your Bible and a pen as Pastor David Hetzer encourages each of us in the Word of God. Second, if you haven't already bought your tickets or want to get some extras for your friends, this Wednesday, March 7th, is the last opporuntity to purchase the Men's BBQ tickets. Last, be sure to bring a BIG appetite to the BBQ, there are going to be so many delicious things to eat. Come ready to eat!

    Please join me this week in praying for Pastor Hetzer as he prepares for Men's BBQ-- that God will use him to encourage each of us in a mighty way. Friend Day Family Prayer Night

    As a member/friend of Canyon Ridge Baptist, you know that this coming Sunday is "Friend Day." A day set aside to encourage our friends to attend, where the gospel will be the sole focus of the day. With that in mind, I would like to ask you to get together with your family this evening and spend some time in prayer for our services.

Please pray that:

1. God will be glorified--Everything we do should honor and glorify God... Ephesians 1:12 "That we should be to the praise of his glory..."
2. A good number of guests will come--Many people have invited their friends; pray they will be in attendance.
3. The Message will be clear, and free from distractions--As always I covet your prayers for the preaching of the Gospel.
4. People would be saved.
5. All those serving Christ by serving others will be empowered by the Holy Spirit.

So whether it's around the table after dinner or before you go to bed, please spend some time tonight in prayer for Friend Day! I love you and am so thankful to be your Pastor.

    Friend Day at Canyon Ridge will be here in 3 days! Friend Day is this Sunday, February 26th, at 10:30AM. It is going to be an exciting day at Canyon Ridge with all of our new friends!

    As Friend Day quickly approaches let me encourage you to continue inviting your friends, neighbors--everyone! Plus, don't forget to join us for Friend Day Outreach this week: Thursday at 6:30PM, Friday at 10:30AM, and Saturday at 10:00AM.

    I also wanted to remind you about the Youth Fundraisers on Friend Day. We have reserved Fuddruckers, San Sai Japanese Grill, Rubio's and Pat & Oscars for lunch, and we’ll all be at Rockie's Frozen Yogurt following our evening service. These fundraisers will not only benefit our Youth but will also allow all of us to enjoy some great food and build relationships with the friends we’ve invited!

    We are counting down the days until Friend Day! Friend Day is 10 days away, which means 10 days to invite your friends, neighbors, grocery baggers, Stackbucks cashier's--everyone!

    Friend Day is going to be great we have some exciting things planned for this special day at Canyon Ridge. We have 4 Youth fundraiser restaurants for lunch; San Sai, Rubio's, Fuddruckers, and Pat & Oscars! Plus a Rockie's fundraiser following the evening service. It's going to be a day centered around building better friendships and making new friends!

 Dear Friend,

Yesterday was a great day at Canyon Ridge, and this week is only getting better! We have the pleasure of having a few special guest speakers coming throughout the next week.

We will have Pastor Dave Hardy with us this Wednesday during "Wednesday in the Word" at 7:00PM. Pastor Hardy has been preaching for over 40 years and has a great love for the Lord and I know he will be a great encouragement to each of us. As we have guest speakers I want to encourage you to introduce yourself and help them feel welcomed to Canyon Ridge.

Missions Commitment Sunday

 Dear Friend,

As Missions Commitment Sunday approaches many people will go back and forth on how much they feel their family can commit to give. The Bible is clear on the benefits of giving in Luke 6:38.

"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."

At Canyon Ridge we each have the opportunity to participate in "Faith Promise Giving," meaning that we each prayerfully consider what the Lord would have us give and then commit by faith that God would provide to meet our commitment. Giving, whether you already have the money, and especially in the case of faith promising giving, is difficult because it's a selfless act; we are choosing to be uncomfortable for the cause of Christ. If you haven't already, begin praying now how God would have you and your family give by faith to missions at Canyon Ridge. If you've already come to a decision it is my prayer that you will find so much joy in following the Lord and being obedient to His leading.

Wednesday in the Word: Fear

 Dear Friend,

Fear is possibly one of the biggest struggles every Christian battles on a regular basis throughout our lives.

Tonight during our "Wednesday in the Word," we will be studying Proverbs 3:25 "Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh." If each of us are honest with ourselves, there has been a point in our lives that fear has captivated us in some form or another. Fear, when it is not dealt with in a Biblical way, hinders our walk with the Lord and hinders our ability to serve Him to the best of our ability.
